Demonstration of Dutch braids:

I walk in wearing plaits then brag about how good I look* 

“I am willing to bet u always wanted to do this for yourself or your friends, well i am here to show you how I achieve this convenient but chic look”

•  “Hi, my name is Helene and today I will be demonstrating how to perform a Dutch braid. Dutch braids are very stylish and are suitable for school days or regulars outings. I have decided I would like to show u guys this skill as it has come in handy in many situations for me and is an impressive skill if you have long hair. Now I would recommend that you already know how to do a basic plait otherwise this may be a little difficult.  Herewith me I have Eve and I will be braiding her hair for my presentation.”

• “First, I will brush her hair thoroughly to remove any knots that may be an issue later. Next, I will use a comb to part the center of her hair into two even sections then tie one side up. Then I will begin the first braid.”

“Now I will show u a simple plait just to kick us off before we move onto the tricky stuff.”

  I do plait*

“ If u are feeling confident doing a basic plait then trying a dutch braid is an excellent idea if not spend a little more time practicing. Doing this dutch braid will be the same as I just showed except this time I will be adding strands of hair into the braid to secure all the hair. I am going, to begin with, three small strands from the front of her hairline and cross them over like a regular plait. I will do this twice then begin to add in strands of hair each time we cross the hair over, each time I am only grabbing a thin chunk as to balance the hair” 

I do plait then show audience*

“ I am now gonna pull at the hair a little just to achieve thicker and more messy looking plaits which will come in handy if u have thin hair. I have just finished the first plait and now I am going to reexplain and show u on the second side just in case u missed anything. So first I am going to take out her hair tie and give her hair a brief brush just to be safe then I will begin my plait.” 

I do the plait then make it look good while explaining the process*

“ I have just finished the second dutch braid and I am once again loosening the hair, Now we have both our dutch braids and we are set to go or if we could mix it up and turn the ends into two ponytails or one ponytail. I would recommend hairspray if u would like to keep your plaits tight and fresh looking as they can be worn for a couple of days but tend to look a little messy after too long.”
