Act 1, Scene 2:

Location: A street in Verona

Characters: Paris, Capulet, Benvolio, Romeo, Servant.

Time: Saturday afternoon

Events: Paris is asking Capulet’s approval of his betrothal to Juliet to unite their families, Capulet explains that Juliet is too young and he decides to give her a choice. While speaking of the marriage Capulet invites him to a gathering he is having, he hands the invites to his servant with the instruction to hand them out while talking up his party. On his way the servant realised he cant read but continues to walk, he stumbles into Romeo and Benvolio still discussing moving on from Rosaline. The servant begs Romeo to read the list aloud for him, Romeo does so with ease but realised he doesnt know anything of this lists purpose. After learning the intention of the party he decides he shall attend the party to see rosaline.
