Location: Friar Lawrence’s cell

Characters: Friar Lawrence, Friar John

Events: Friar John is explaining why he couldn’t deliver the letter to Romeo because of a plague in a town on the way. The plague was thought to be caused by god or by the curse Mercutio put on the families. Friar Lawrence comes up with a plan to take juliet to his house and to send an update to Romeo by letter. Juliet is to wake up in 4 hours.
